A little help

Let's get your request moving.

Uploading documents? The business that sent your request is the best place to ask what it needs. For a problem with GetDocs itself, start here.

For clients uploading documents

Do I need an account or an app?

No. Open the secure link from the requesting business in your browser. Check the business name, see the checklist, and upload each requested file or answer. Keep your link private and use it again to return to the same request while it is valid.

Can I scan a document with my phone?

Yes. Open the secure request on a supported Android phone or iPhone and tap “Scan a page”. The rear camera opens so you can photograph one page and check that it is clear before uploading. For a multi-page document, upload the first page and then scan the next page into the same checklist item.

This is camera capture, not automatic cropping or text recognition. Place the document flat, include all four corners and avoid glare.

Can I upload separate files for the same item?

Yes. Three months of payslips or bank statements can be one combined PDF or separate files. Use “Choose files”, select your documents, then “Upload files”. You can add more in another batch. When the full set is received and any security processing has finished, choose “Submit item for review”. The number of files does not prove the requested period is covered; check the dates before submitting.

Each item allows up to 10 files. The limit is 15.0 MB per file and 20.0 MB per upload batch. “Clear” clears your current selection; “Remove” removes an already received file from the current set before submission.

My file will not upload.

Use a PDF, JPG or PNG no larger than 15.0 MB per file. If several files together exceed 20.0 MB, upload them in smaller batches. Make sure each file opens on your device. Wait for the upload confirmation before closing the page. If your connection drops, reopen the request and check the received-file list before retrying. Your other saved items should remain in the checklist.

Do not send the file to support or use an unfamiliar online converter for sensitive documents. Ask the requesting business for a safe alternative if you are still stuck.

The link has expired or no longer works.

Contact the business that sent it using a phone number or email address you already trust. Ask for a new link. Support cannot confirm private request details from an expired link.

A document needs attention. What now?

Read the reason underneath the item. Use “Choose replacement files”, then “Upload replacement files” to start a new set covering the whole requirement—not just the missing page or month. This replaces the item's previous set; earlier files remain in its review history. Add further files if needed, then choose “Submit item for review” when the full replacement set is ready. If you do not understand what is needed, ask the requesting business. GetDocs support cannot decide whether a document meets its requirements.

Everything is uploaded. Am I finished?

Received files are saved, but each file item still needs “Submit item for review” when its full set is ready. Submitted means waiting for the business to review it; accepted means the business has approved that item. If no items need your attention, wait for review. You may be asked to replace an item. A completed request means the required items have been accepted or marked not applicable.

I do not recognise the request.

Do not upload anything. Verify the request with the named organisation through contact details you already know. Do not forward the access link to someone else for checking.

For businesses requesting documents

How do I send my first request?

Create a client record for the person or business you are collecting from, choose “New Request”, and start from a template or a blank checklist. Check the wording, recipient details and due date, then create the request. Share the secure link only with the intended recipient. Review templates for your business's requirements before using them.

The request email has not arrived.

Check the recipient address on the request and ask the recipient to check their spam folder. “Queued” does not mean delivered. You can share an available secure link through an agreed channel. If no link is displayed, use “Create secure link”, then “Copy link”. Creating a replacement invalidates earlier links, so send the new one only to the intended recipient and tell them to use it instead.

How do I deal with the wrong document?

Open the request, reject the item and give a specific reason, such as the date period required. The client can return to the same valid link and replace it. Accepted and uploaded progress are separate so you can see what still needs review.

Can support change a client's documents for me?

Use your authorised business account for review decisions. Support is not a substitute for the client's upload or your business's approval. For privacy-related correction or deletion, follow the contact process in our privacy notice.

Contact GetDocs support

Describe what you were trying to do, what happened, the approximate time, and your browser or device. Use a general description of the error. If you share a screenshot, remove names, document contents and the entire secure request URL first.

Never send passwords, identity documents, bank statements, attachments containing personal information, or secure request links to support.

A GetDocs support contact has not yet been configured. For an existing document request, contact the business that sent it. A monitored support channel must be in place before production launch.

No 24-hour availability or response-time guarantee is offered on this page.

Report a security or privacy concern

If you think a link was shared with the wrong person or information was exposed, notify the requesting organisation promptly using a trusted contact. Stop sharing the link and avoid opening or downloading any other person's information. Business users should follow their incident process and restrict affected access without deleting evidence.

A dedicated GetDocs security contact has not yet been configured. Contact the requesting organisation's responsible person immediately. Do not wait for this channel to become available before beginning its incident process.

Do not post vulnerability details, documents or access links publicly. Read our POPIA approach for notification responsibilities, or the privacy notice for information-rights enquiries.
