GetDocs for Accountants

Client document collection for accountants

The work is ready to start. The documents are somewhere in an inbox. Give each client one checklist for their tax return or year-end pack, and see exactly what is still outstanding.

Free during early access. No card required. No client account.

POC: use fictional documents for now.

One client. Six requirements. No attachment hunt.

John emails his IRP5, sends a photo of his ID on WhatsApp and forgets his medical aid certificate. In GetDocs, those requirements have their own place. You can see what arrived without reconstructing the conversation, and John can return to the same active link for the missing items.

Create a checklist → send one secure link → collect and review. Your client opens the link on a phone or computer, without installing an app or creating a password.

Example: individual tax-return request

  • ID document, where needed
  • IRP5 for the relevant tax year
  • Medical aid tax certificate
  • Retirement annuity certificate
  • Bank statements for a specified period
  • Rental or additional income information, if applicable

Starting example only. Review each item for your client, lawful purpose and professional requirements. This is not a complete statutory checklist.

Make the next request easier to answer

Name the year and period

Put the tax year in the request title and specify the statement dates in the item instructions. “Bank statements” alone leaves room for the wrong files.

Keep review separate from receipt

A file being uploaded does not mean it is correct. Accept it or explain what needs replacing; the client sees that reason alongside the item.

Reuse the structure, review the wording

Save your usual checklist as a template. Adjust it for the next client rather than sending the same long email again.

Start with one client and one checklist.

Free during early access—not a free-forever promise.
